DEKKY

Jeroen te Rehorst got interested in DJ’ing in the early 90’s. While collecting records of all kind of genres, he got in touch with the Dutch dance scene and found out that his calling is: entertaining an audience, as a DJ! He started playing house, known as DEKKY, at small house parties, school parties, trendy bars and entered DJ contests to gain experience to play for a crowd and learn from other DJ's to optimise his own skills.

2002              In February 2002 he started working as assistant-shop manager at Rhythm Import (distributor of dance music over 25 years and founder of dance labels ‘Fresh Fruit’ & ‘Work’) In this period he still learns more and more about the music and gets a lot of contacts in the industry.

2003             The year 2003 was a promising year for Dekky. That summer he got several invitations to play at the Republiek, one of Bloemendaal aan Zee's hottest beach clubs, and the two most popular clubs in Rotterdam: Now & Wow and Las Palmas (both award winners for ‘best club’ by the Dutch nightlife). Also during this year he was given the opportunity to host the Sunday Tea Dance parties as a resident DJ. This got him invited several times to play on the new offspring of the internationally known Supperclub: The Suppercruise and to play with artists, such as: Cece Peniston (known from the 90’s hit: ‘Finally’).His first foreign adventure was a fact: MTV Romania booked Dekky for a Romanian tour during Christmas. Over the years, other offers followed to countries such as: Greece, UK, Russia, Finland, Germany, Turkey and Spain, where he rocked, Bora Bora, The Blue Marlin & El Divino several times at party island Ibiza!

2005            Being resident dj and music programmer the past year for The Mansion, one of Holland’s leading venues at the moment and voted for “Hottest Place In Hollandâ€? by multiple national and international media like MTV, NY Times, Theme UK, TIME, Wallpaper and more, he did the planning and bookings for the artists and was responsible in developing and carrying out the music policy and events. International artists like Sander Kleinenberg, John Da Silva, Sasha, Laidback Luke, Lucien Foort, Marco V, Roog (Hardsoul), Eddie Amador, MYNC Project, Erick-E, Martijn Ten Velden, Mustafa, Tom De Neef, Fudge and Bruno Banner (The Trouble Men), Andy Compton (The Rurals), Kevin Saunderson, Steve Mac and many others, lined up in The Mansion due of his involvement.

2008            Nowadays Dekky has residencies all over Holland, played at major festivals such as Dance Valley, and runs his own music label  and events company, OnThaFloor. From there he produces the successful clubnight Digitalsoul and cooperated on several branded events with international labels like Ministry of Sound, Toolroom records, Cr2 records, OM-records and Kinkymalinki. This is also the year that Dekky proves being a talented producer: His very first release ‘Tu Madre’ was launched into the top 3 of the national dance chart within a few weeks and got dropped as HOT NEW RELEASE by Roger Sanchez in his global Release Yourself radioshow ! Follow ups ‘Under Control’ & ‘Ravemachine’ (Rootz Records) , again, received massive support and peaked everywhere in the sales and dance charts……More to be heard from Dekky, very soon….
