Greg van Bueren has been making music since he was very young. He completed classical piano training at an early age. He started his professional music career as a funk and soul DJ in his early twenties but his production skills were so outstanding he took the decision to dedicate time to his produce original music. This decision had major consequences – he has taken the Hardsoul sound to an international level and seen it revered worldwide!

After carving out a solid niche for himself and Hardsoul in the market since the turn of the millenium, his productions really started crashing onto the scene. His track 'Back Together', which featured house legend Ron Carroll (co-produced with his brother Roog), was voted No.1 record of the 2003 annual DJ Mag Hype Chart. The track was hugely sucessful and was licensed to compilations worldwide (Hed Kandi, Defected, Soul Heaven by Louie Vega, Defected in the House by Kenny Dope, Southport Weekender by Joey Negro, Miguel Migs and Ministry of Sound Germany). The 2004 International House Music Awards saw both Greg and brother Roog nominated for the Essential Track of the Year award as well as the Outstanding Vocal Award for the Back Together release.
The brothers took their sound to the next level in 2004 - Hardsoul presents Roog & Greg ‘Uber’ made it onto top UK house label Toolroom. The track was named BBC Radio 1’s ‘Track Of The Week’ and was included on numerous international compilations.
Greg and Roog’s  2004 release ‘Committed’ on US based label Soulfuric reached top position in the DJ Mag Hypechart.

As a producer Greg is highly respected. Plaudits quickly came from the crème de la crème of the house music world with Dave Lee (Joey Negro, Jakarta) naming Hardsoul the most talented producers of 2003, and Brian Tappert of Soulfuric calling the Dutch duo the “future of house. High praise indeed….

Greg’s production career was now in full swing and his tracks were quickly snapped up for worldwide licensing. The 2004 Defected compilation called 'Soulfuric In The House' features a staggering four Hardsoul productions and remixes.

Two records on the Hardsoul Pressings label ended up in the 2006 Top 10 of best selling records on Traxsource (USA’s No. 1 download site for house music), namely ‘Deep Inside’, and another collaboration between Hardsoul and Ron Carroll on ‘My Life’. In 2006 the greg decided to press on with label activities. He started a new label called R(oog) &G(reg) Electronics. The label offers some serious chunky music that is deemed to ‘electronic’ for Hardsoul Pressings – the subsequent 2007 release by Greg, Jeroenski & Roog entitled ‘Your Mind is Twisted’ on R&G become a international underground hit. Widespread support across the board, with support from Roger Sanchez (licensed to his comp) and Jazzy Jeff to name but two. MN2S (UK’s biggest DJ agency and London based clubnights) requested Jon Cutler and Hardsoul to mix their ‘10 Years of our House’ compilation in 2005. It was voted ‘Compilation of the Month’ in UK’s M8 magazine.

The 2006 release of Hardsoul and Ron Carroll’s ‘My Life’ scored a prestigious 5/5 rating in seminal UK dance publication DJ Mag. The track has been licensed to numerous top compilations, with Seb Fontaine picking it up for his Type 2 comp for Thrive USA and Knee Deep for his The Art Of House album. It was also snapped up by Beachland 07 on Blanco y Negro and long-running UK label Azuli’s Las Tardes In Ibiza 2007 LP. The newly founded  CyberJapan record company gave the record a domestic release in the Japanese territory, reaching the No. 2 position in the Japanese Cisco chart and Greg travels to Japan for a two date tour in Tokyo and Osaka to promote the single ‘My Life’ Aside from original material, both Greg and Roog put out top compilations, fuelled by Roog’s sky-rocketing DJ career. The compilations DJ Roog Presents Hardsoul: The Sound of Love and Dedication 2 (which of course included many of Greg and Roog’s original productions) was by far Holland's highest selling house compilation of 2003. The third instalment of the series was released late 2005, to widespread acclaim. In 2006 Greg and Roog released the Housequake compilation (a collaboration between Dj Roog & Erick E) which was also one of the top selling house compilations of its genre.
After ten years of producing Greg now finds himself increasingly in demand in the clubs as a DJ. His precious time is now spilt between the studio and taking up bookings alongside the likes of Dennis Ferrer, the Martinez Brothers, Lucien Foort, Richard Earnshaw and more. Greg has guested at nights all over Holland including Related, Deepheat, Loveland Festival, Housequake, GirlsLoveDJs, Sensative, Paris, Mn2s (UK) and many more.
Greg also finds time to promote the music he loves. As a promotor runs a monthly deep house night at Amsterdam’s prestigious Club NL, called DeepHeat, where he is also resident jock.
The future for Greg van Bueren is bright as a producer and DJ.  UK’s number one house label Defected asked Greg and Roog to mix their new global compilation: D’Fused and Digital Amsterdam mixed by Hardsoul. This news, coupled with another release on Defected (Hardsoul feat. fierce ruling diva-Self Religion) plus numerous hot releases, DJ gigs, his own night and crucially his own labels, see Greg van Bueren more than ready to take his place in the international spotlight.
